LIGHTING STANDARDS

ATLA S001 and ATLA S001-A are provided, free of charge, to any person or organization interested in adopting them as standards or developing derivative works for new standards, subject to the license for each standard.

In 2016, SunTracker Technologies began development of a lighting industry standard to supersede photometric data standards such as ANSI/IES LM-63 and EULUMDAT that were developed in the 1980s. The goal was to support today’s lighting design requirements for architectural, horticultural, germicidal, infrared, and future lighting applications.

ATLA S001, Standard Format for the Electronic Transfer of Luminaire Optical Data, was developed with contributions from over fifty international colleagues, and has been published as ANSI/IES TM-33-18 and UNI 11733.

ATLA S001-A, Amendment to Standard Format for the Electronic Transfer of Luminaire Optical Data, Including JSON Specification, offers numerous improvements to ATLA S001 while being fully backward-compatible with ANSI/IES TM-33-18 and UNI 11733. Most important, it specifies a fully-compliant JSON document format that results in a 90 percent reduction in file size.
